Marketplace & Instructor Terms
Plain-language terms for selling on CLIMB Crafts and leading workshops as an Instructor. Gentle, fair, and clear.
These terms complement our Community Guidelines, Privacy Policy, and Prohibited & Restricted Items. If there’s a conflict, these terms control for commerce and instruction.
1) Roles & Platform
- Platform role. CLIMB Crafts provides marketplace, community, and event tools.
- Merchant of record. Each Seller/Instructor is the merchant of record for their own listings/events—responsible for accurate descriptions, fulfillment, taxes, and support.
- Eligibility. 18+ (or local age of majority). Provide accurate account details and required tax forms (W-9/W-8BEN) before payouts.
2) Listings & Accuracy
- Honest representation. Photos show true color (no heavy filters/AI recoloring). Describe materials, dimensions (in + cm), finish, and natural variation.
- On-page policies. Clearly state processing time, shipping method, refund/return windows, custom lead times.
- Prohibited items. No unsafe/illegal/misrepresented goods. See Prohibited & Restricted Items.
- Accessibility. Alt text on images, meaningful first sentences, and size info in text. Disclose scents/allergens plainly.
3) Orders, Shipping, & Returns
- Order flow. Orders are processed in WooCommerce; vendor tools live in your Dokan portal.
- Shipping & packaging. Right-size parcels; prefer paper-based/recyclable materials. Follow the Packaging Guide.
- Dispatch. Ship within your stated processing time. Mark orders “Completed” to trigger buyer emails.
- Returns/refunds. Honor your published return window. Refunds occur in Woo; communicate via order messages. If you offer repairs/exchanges, state the process.
- Lost/damaged. Work with the buyer; file insurance claims promptly. “Proof-of-pack” photos are recommended.
4) Payments, Fees, & Taxes
- Payouts. Released to your connected Stripe/PayPal on [choose: rolling 7–10 days / bi-weekly / monthly] after order completion, subject to fraud/chargeback holds and required tax docs.
- Minimum payout. $[X]. Negative balances (refunds/chargebacks/fees) are netted from future payouts.
- Marketplace fees. CLIMB may retain a platform commission/transaction fee (see pricing page). Processor and Dokan fees may apply.
- Taxes. You are responsible for configuring, collecting, and remitting applicable taxes. Where marketplace-facilitator laws require CLIMB to collect/remit certain taxes, we will disclose and adjust payout statements.
- Chargebacks & disputes. Provide timely evidence (photos, shipment/attendance proof). Losses/fees attributable to your transactions may be deducted from payouts.
5) Instructor Programs (Workshops, Courses, Events)
- Approval. Instructor status requires application and adherence to these terms & Community Guidelines.
- Accuracy. Publish clear titles, dates, time zones, duration, capacity, prerequisites, materials list, and timely meeting links.
- Minimums. If you set a minimum, state the threshold and decision date.
- Safety. Choose projects appropriate for remote instruction. Provide warnings and PPE guidance if tools/heat/chemicals are involved.
- Minors. No enrollment of minors without verified guardian consent and compliance with local law. No unsupervised 1:1 instruction with minors on CLIMB platforms.
6) Instructor Cancellations & Participant Refunds
- Instructor cancellation. Notify attendees promptly. Offer a full refund or a rescheduled date; attendees may choose refund instead of reschedule.
- Low enrollment. If minimums aren’t met by your cut-off, cancel or reschedule with full refunds available.
- Participant cancellations (default if not otherwise stated): ≥ 7 days before start → 100% refund; 2–6 days → 50% refund; <48h → no refund. You may offer credit at your discretion.
- No-shows. No refund unless your listing promises otherwise.
- Digital and replays. Non-refundable once accessed/streamed, except for failed delivery or duplicate purchase.
- Materials kits. Disclose ship-by dates; unopened kits refundable less shipping; opened/used kits non-refundable unless defective.
7) Recordings & Intellectual Property
- Your content. You retain IP in your instructional materials.
- License to CLIMB. You grant CLIMB a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host/stream/display your instructional content to enrolled participants and for reasonable promotion.
- Participant privacy. Recording captures the Instructor demo by default. Do not record participants without explicit prior consent.
- Replay access window. If offered, replays remain accessible for [14–30 days]. If a platform outage blocks access >24h, CLIMB may extend the window or offer credit.
- Third-party assets. Use only assets you have rights to. Disclose affiliate links where used.
- Photo & Content Rights: Images and descriptions belong to their makers. Reuse without permission is not allowed. Upload resized images only (1500–2000 px wide).
8) Referrals & Promotions
- AffiliateWP tracking. Referral links attribute visits and conversions. Self-referrals, coupon stacking to inflate commissions, or misleading incentive posts are prohibited; CLIMB may void commissions and suspend access for abuse.
- Emails & automations. WP Fusion → ActiveCampaign deliver transactional and opted-in marketing emails. Do not export or spam community members.
- Badges. GamiPress badges are visual recognition only; no cash value.
9) Community, Safety, & Accessibility
- Community Guidelines apply across listings, workshops, and forums. Zero tolerance for harassment or discrimination; violations may result in removal without refund and program suspension. Report via /general-support (“Community Safety”).
- Accessibility. Make reasonable accommodations on request. If a participant cannot meaningfully access an event after requesting accommodation with reasonable notice, we may offer a replay, transfer, or refund at our discretion.
- High-risk activities. Instructors must list PPE and safety warnings and capture an Assumption-of-Risk/Participation waiver at checkout or pre-class.
10) Data & Privacy
- Use of buyer/attendee data. Use data only to fulfill the purchased order/event. No off-platform marketing unless the buyer explicitly opted-in.
- Tags & automations. WP Fusion applies tags on commerce/event actions (e.g., order completed, ticket purchased) which may trigger emails in ActiveCampaign per our Privacy Policy.
- Security. Keep credentials safe. You’re responsible for activity under your account.
11) IP Takedowns
Report alleged infringement via /ip-takedown with required details. We may remove content while investigating and share notice with the other party.
12) Force Majeure & Platform Outages
Neither CLIMB nor Sellers/Instructors are liable for delays/failures caused by events beyond reasonable control (e.g., widespread outages, disasters). Affected orders/events may be rescheduled or refunded as appropriate.
13) Governing Law, Limitation of Liability, Indemnity
- Governing law/venue. These terms are governed by the laws of [Your State/Country]; exclusive venue in [Your County/City].
- Limitation. To the maximum extent permitted, no indirect/special/consequential damages. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) fees paid by you to CLIMB in the 3 months preceding the claim, or (b) $100.
- Indemnity. You will indemnify and hold CLIMB harmless from claims arising out of your listings, events, or misuse of the platform.
14) Updates to These Terms
We may update these terms to reflect platform or policy changes. We’ll post the new date/version above and, when material, notify you by email or in-app message. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
