Shared Principles

How We Treat People and Creative Work

Care First

Protect people, privacy, consent, and safety.

Be Genuine

Keep your profile, reports, choices, and progress accurate.

Respect Every Maker Path

Making for joy, identity, income, or business are all valid.

Progress Over Perfection

Drafts, questions, restarts, pauses, and small steps count.

Credit Creative Work

Name sources, collaborators, teachers, permissions, and meaningful AI use.

Share What Happened

When useful, return with what happened so what comes next can fit what happened.

Using Community

Take Part When It Helps

Community participation is optional. Use it when another maker’s experience, encouragement, answer, or question supports what you are doing now.

Share a work in progress or a completed result.
Ask one clear question.
Offer respectful feedback when it is invited.
Help another maker identify a useful next step.
Return after time away without apology.

Open Community

Creative Work and AI

Use and Share Work With Permission

Credit sources and contributors: name patterns, tutorials, teachers, collaborators, references, and permissions.
Describe meaningful AI use: say when generative AI created or materially changed the work.
Respect the creator’s choices: do not repost, reuse, train on, license, or sell work beyond the permission given.
Ask before another use: permission should be clear.

Choose How Your Work May Be Used

Safety and Boundaries

Protect the Space and Use the Right Help

No harassment or retaliation: threats, bullying, intimidation, hate speech, targeted shaming, or punishing someone for asking for help.
No stolen or deceptive work: impersonation, copied work presented as original, fake handmade claims, or misleading products and services.
No spam or pressure selling: repetitive promotion, irrelevant links, engagement manipulation, guilt, or false urgency.
No gatekeeping: do not make new, quiet, disabled, or returning makers feel unwelcome.
No unsafe or unsupported claims: do not present risky advice as certain or complete.
No privacy or consent violations: do not expose private information, private messages, or content beyond the permission given.

Report a Concern

Safety, privacy, conduct, impersonation, spam, misuse, or creative-rights concerns.

For immediate physical danger, contact local emergency services first.
